Everyone has the right to live free from abuse and neglect. Safeguarding is at the heart of how Normanshire Supported Living Services works, and every member of our team shares the responsibility to keep the people we support safe.

Our commitment

• We follow clear safeguarding policies and procedures
• Every team member completes safeguarding training and knows how to spot and report concerns
• We recruit safely, with enhanced DBS checks and references for every team member
• We work openly with Waltham Forest Council's safeguarding adults team
• We listen to the people we support and take every concern seriously

If you are worried about someone

If you are worried that an adult we support, or any adult at risk, is being harmed, abused or neglected, please act.

• If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
• Report a concern about an adult at risk in Waltham Forest to the council's adult safeguarding team on 020 8496 3000, or through walthamforest.gov.uk.
• You can also contact us directly on 020 3409 7719 or info@normanshirecare.co.uk. We will listen, act and involve the right agencies.
• You can report a concern to the police on 101 where there is no immediate danger.

What happens when you raise a concern

We take every safeguarding concern seriously. We follow our safeguarding procedures, work with the local authority and other agencies where needed, and keep the person at the centre of every decision, respecting their wishes wherever possible.
